Conte looks dejected in the rain after the defeat at Manchester City
Bernardo Silva’s strike just after half-time condemned Conte’s men to defeat at the Etihad, with the visitors not having a single shot on target in the evening kick-off – live on talkSPORT.
Chelsea, the reigning Premier League champions, look set to relinquish their crown to Pep Guardiola’s rampant side this campaign.
While the Blues never really looked like threatening Ederson in the City goal, Conte was quick to point out the chasm between the two sides on Sunday afternoon.
“I think that we missed the last pass in many counter-attacks,” he said.
“When we won the ball, we missed the last pass and it wasn’t good for us.
“I think when you play against Manchester City, you know in this moment the difference between the two teams is enormous and there are 25 points.
“We are not so close in the table and it means that the gap is big.”
City are now just four wins away from winning the Premier League title for the first time since 2014.
They have smashed multiple records along the way and have played some scintillating football along the way.
As a result, Conte admitted he had to change his approach specifically for the game, but was happy with how his players performed.
He said: “For this reason you have to play with a great humble and great humility, and to try to use the brain to try to take one or three points.
“But, I repeat, the effort of my players I’m very happy with them.”
